1: In the beginning...



Your name is Bilbo Baggins and you live in a hole in the ground. Your family have lived in the neighbourhood of The Hills for ever and people consider you to be a very respectable family because you are rich and never do anything unexpected - your father would never dream of going on an adventure!

One day, thirteen dwarves, led by Thorin, and a wizard called Gandalf visit you and invite you on a quest. They want you to help them retrieve some treasure which is being guarded by the deadly, fire-breathing, dragon, Smaug!

If you accept the quest - go to page 2.
If you decline the offer - go to page 3.

2: The quest begins

You set off on an adventure of a lifetime with Thorin and Gandalf. You are relieved to find they have come prepared; Thorin has a map and is given a special key by Gandalf.



You have barely left Hobbiton when you are suddenly pounced on by trolls! You try to fight them off but there are just too many of them. They attack in the hope that they will be able to eat you and your friends for their lunch. Luckily, Gandlaf turns them all into stone and saves the day!

Just as you are about to leave you notice a chest hidden behind a bush. On opening it, you discover a hoard of jewel-encrusted, shiny, silver swords.


If Thorin, Gandalf and yourself decide to take a sword, go to page 4.


If you all leave the swords, go to page 5.

3: Staying in Hobbiton




You turn down the offer of the quest. Thorin and Gandalf set off on their own and you continue to live your life in Hobbiton eating and drinking to your heart's content!



Your adventure is over.

4: On to Rivendale

After a long trek, you and the dwarves arrive at Rivendale where the elves live with their leader, Elrond, who has magical, mystical powers. He decodes some moon letters on Thorin's map and discovers a secret door in to the Mountains! You and the elves set off on a long and exciting journey to the mysterious Misty Mountains.

5: Black magic

You are on your way to Rivendale to meet Elrod, the leader of the dwarves. Suddenly, an ugly, green-fingered, evil-looking witch , with snakes for hair pounces on you.



She summons a wand from her rat-infested pocket and begins to cast a spell on you. Will she succeed in casting her spell?


She succeeds - go to page 6.

She doesn't succeed - go to page 7.









6: Spell catcher




On the way to Rivendale the ugliest, scariest witch in the universe pounces on you. She summons a wand from her eyeball-infested pocket and begins a spell to turn you into a slimey frog! You have nothing to protect yourself and hop away into the forest to spend eternity as a croaking creature!

Your quest is over.

7: Back-firing spell.




The wicked, nasty witch is so ugly she looks like Nanny Mcphee. Her name is Nanny Mcevil. She tries to cast a spell on you but you pull out your sword. The spell reflects on the shiny silver and she turns her self into a frog instead!

8: Challenge on Misty Mountain




You arrive at the Misty Mountain ... it is dark and silent. You smell death in the air. Thunder crashes into the ground and lightning crackles across the sky. All of a sudden some COLOSSAL trolls start throwing rocks at you !


Fili and kili find a cave for you all to shelter in. When you wake up you see so much mist that you can't see your hand in front of your face. Fili and kili are still asleep. You wake them up and return to your journey.

9: Object

You wake up in the Goblins cave after a few hours. The smell is soooo disgusting! You reach out into the black darkness and feel something.What can it be?


You put the object in your pocket - go to page 10


You don't take the object - go to page 11

10: Gollum's deal

You crawl forward in the darkness. Suddenly, you see a weird shadow. You know you're not alone! From nowhere a nasty, slimy, dissgusting creature called Gollum appears. He looks at you like you're his next meal. Gollum tells you he will show you the way out of the cave if you can answer his riddles.

11: Captured!!!

Later, whilst walking through the forest, out of no where, you and your friends get captured by horrible wood elves. You try to save the other but there is just too many woodelves... They over power you and you get locked in a dungeon for eternity.

12: Riddles and rings

You beat Gollums riddles. He shows you the way out. You run faster than your legs can carry you.

You slowly reach into your pocket and discover the mysterious object that you placed in it earlier and realise it is a magical ring! You slip the ring on. All of a sudden you turn invisible, making it even easier to escape.

Go to page 14.

13:The battle

You have a long battle with Gollum but he is cleverer and stronger than you thought. His wisdom overpowers you but he makes a foolish mistake - when he turns his back to you you pounce and over power him! Gollum scurries away into the deep, depths of the cave and you escape - injured but alive.

14: In the forest



You finally catch up to the company, after an hour! Whilst walking through the misty, creepy, forest, you get found by Wargs - huge, savage beasts, like wolves.

Do you climb a tree to hide from them?
Yes - go to page 15

No - go to page 16

15: Ready fire!




Whilst up the tree, Gandolf shoots red hot flames out of his hands to try and destroy the savage goblins. He fails to hit them even after a thousand shots. As the goblins come closer, a giant eagle saves you all by swooping down and picking you up, flying you all away to safety.

16: The battle


You try to escape the wargs by running through the forest but they're too fast for you. They attack. The battle is on! The wargs are fierce, evil creatures and are just too vicious for you and your friends.

17: Spiders invade

You arrive at Mirkwood and suddenly you get attacked by giant, spiders. You run to save yourself but the others are not so lucky. You look behind and see the others trapped in giant, sticky spider webs, about to be eaten.

18: The magic ring



You pull out your invisible, magical ring and instantly disappear. You are able to climb up to the webs and cut your friends free. You're the hero of the hour!

19: The spider attack



You leave everyone behind dangling from the tree and run away. Just when your legs can't carry you anymore, a hundred spiders surround you! They trap you in their giant webs! You don't know what to do and try to escape. Unfortunately, the webs are too sticky and you are stranded in the trees for eternity.

20: The plot

Eventually, you arrive at Lake-Town and the master gives you supplies and horses to continue to the Lonley Mountain. He warns you about the deadly-dragon, Smaug, and hopes Thorin will kill him.

21: Lonely mountains




You arrive at the cold , lonely misty, mountains after an exhausting trek. You see a door. Thorin uses his key to open the door and it swings open as fast as a bullet. In side, there is a pitch black tunnel.



Are you brave enough to go in?

No - go to page 23

22: Apologise



You are walking through a dirty , empty, slimy and a onion smelling tunnel. It's leading you down to a rotten dragon called Smaug. You spot two handle cups laying on the table. You pick it up and put it in your pocket. Smaug sees you and he opens his mouth - you see his razor pointed teeth.
Do you make a deal to apologise for stealing his property?

Yes - go to page 26
No - go to page 27

23: Walking up the mountain.

Your walk up the mountian is fraught with danger. Many of the elves struggle with the dangerous terrain. Suddenly, there is a loud rumble and you hear screams - three elves have been killed by falling rocks.

Will you contiune up the mountian or turn around and make your descent?

Go back down - go to page 25

24: A dark dark tunnel



You have a hazardous journey back down the misty mountain. eventually, after many trips and falls, you arrive back at the entrance of the dark dark mountain tunnel.

Do you enter this time?

Yes - go to page 22.

No- go to page 3

25: Disaster!

You take the risk of continuing your climb up the misty mountain. Suddenly,rocks start to fall at an enormous speed. One falls right on your head.

26: A Smaug situation


Smaug is grateful for your apology but warns you you won't be so lucky next time. Phew - what a relief!
During your apology, you notice a bare spot on Smaug's scaly green skin, where he is uncovered. Could this be his weak spot?

27:The Fierce Dragon



Smaug is furious with you and begins his attack. You try to fight this fierce, fire -breathing dragon but he is too strong for you.You fight and fight with all your might but you start to get weaker and weaker. The gigantic dragon raises his gigantic claw and slashes you then he breaths hot fire.

You die!

28:The Arkenstone



Whilst Smoug is away attacking Lake-Town you and the dwarves explore the dark daring caves. You and the dwarves come across armour, jewels and weapons you find the Arkenstone that thorin most wants...

29: the dramatic time

The dragon Smaug burns the village of Esgaroth with fire burning just like the sun. Bilbo tells a warrior called Bard about the bare patch on Smaugs left breast. Bard shoots Smaug with his very Lucky arrow and kill him.

30: Face-off at the mountain

You are all told of the death of Smaug by Roac, leader of the Great Ravens, and begin celebrating. All of a sudden, you here a commotion - an army of woodelves and Lake-Towners are coming for a share of the treasuere you've discovered!



Thorin sends Roac to ask dwarves from everywhere to come and help - especially his cousin, Dain, a strong and brave warrior.



The armies and Lake-Towners march up the mountain determined to take the treasure. They bargain with Thorin and agree to only take a share of it.



Does Thorin agree?

No - go to page 32

31: Go away!!

Thorin eventually discovers that you gave away the precious Arkenstone to Gandalf and the Woodelf king. He is so mad. He threatens you and tell you to leave the town and never return. You are very confused and don't no what to do. You try to argue but you start crying.



Do you do as Thorin says?

If you go away - go to page 33

If you stay - go to page 34

32: Under siege

The mountain gets put under siege by the army of woodelves and Lake-Towners. They launch rocks and burning torches at you so Thorin decides to change his mind and give them some of the treasure.

33: The great battle.

You leave alone. Meanwhile, Thorin begins his battle with the woodelves. A great battle ensues but Thorin, eventually, is triumphant .

34: the battle of Thorin

You have a huge battle with Thorin. You fight and fight with all your strength, you get weaker and weaker. At this time you have no strength left, so you can't carry on and Thorin wins the fight.

35: The deal




You wake up, alone in the forest. A woodelf finds you and tells you that Thorin won the battle but is seriously ill so you go to visit him and he forgives you for betraying him with the Arkenstone.

He finally dies after you have became good friends again.

36: The end


You finally arrive home, in Hobbiton, after your amazing quest. Your neighbours no-longer respect you because of your adventurous neighbour but you don't care as you are very rich and happy!


Your quest is now over and you can't wait until the next one begins!
